The small stuff

Today I’m thinking about the small things. In a good way, though, not in a “don’t sweat the small stuff” kind of way. I’m thinking about those small, seemingly insignificant moments that can change your mood or brighten your day.

I’m thinking of the excitement of checking your mailbox when you’re expecting something good.
An impending summer thunderstorm when you just really need to stay in and relax.
A lunch break that seems a lot longer than an hour (but actually isn’t).
Setting up and organizing a new living space (despite the groans of moving).
A cherry slushy on a ridiculously hot day.
Holding the hand of the one you love.
A coupon on the bottom of your receipt (seriously, check your receipts- restaurants do this all the time!) Going to see a movie with your girlfriends that you’d only see with your girlfriends (i.e. Sex & the City, the new Zac Efron movie, etc.).
One of those “I’m glad I’m not the only one” realizations.
Searching for airfare for a really exciting trip you may or may not actually take.
Finally having an empty laundry basket.

As small and simple as they may be, these moments help us live. What are some of these moments for you?
